There are restrictions on how and when you can ride your bike. These are primarily:
- At 'gazetted' Club events, meaning events listed in the Club Itinery published in Desmoto and listed on this site (here). These include Club meetings.
- In order to service or repair the bike in order to attend such an event.
- There are a number of other occasions when you can, and many when you can't, ride your bike.
Here are a few links to more information on the scheme:
- VicRoads information here.
- A summary of the scheme can be found here.
- FAQ's on the scheme can be found here.
It is strongly recommended that if you are a current holder of a permit or are considering applying for one, that you read these documents.
To apply for a permit you:
- Contact the and arrange a time to have the bike inspected.
- All going well, he will provide you with a form which must be authorised by the
under the seal of the Club (Club President is also authorised).
- Take the paperwork along with you to a VicRoads office that accepts these applications. Ring first. The latest on this was that Clayton doesn't but Nunawading does.
